Womens Motorcycle Boots
Women's motorcycle boots are protective riding boots with an extended shaft covering the ankle and lower leg, built on a women's last in sizes 38 to 41. A real women's last is narrower at the heel with a different instep, which is what stops a tall boot from rubbing over a long ride. This is the AdventureSE Denver on our women's last. SE stands for Shaft Extension: the shaft is carried up the lower leg for more coverage, on a boot that was drawn as a women's model from the start rather than shrunk down from the men's. Handmade in Italy, Sympatex® membrane, Vibram® outsole, Goodyear welted so the sole is replaceable. The grid below shows the combination we keep in stock. If you want different leather, stitching or laces, the boot is built to order in the colours you choose.
What makes these women's motorcycle boots different?
The last and the shaft. The last is purpose-built for a woman's foot, narrower at the heel and shaped differently over the instep, and the shaft is cut to follow a woman's calf line. Protection and certification are identical to the men's model.
Most women's motorcycle boots are men's boots in smaller sizes. On a low shoe you might get away with that. On a tall boot you won't, because the shaft now has to follow the shape of your leg as well as your foot, and a scaled-down men's shaft is straight where a calf isn't.
What size women's motorcycle boots should you order?
Order your usual size. Women's motorcycle boots here run from 38 to 41 in whole sizes on a women's last. If you're between sizes, or you ride in thick winter socks, take the larger size. Leather widens a little across the foot with wear, but length never changes.
Check three things when they arrive: your toes clear the end when you stand, your heel stays down as you walk, and the shaft closes over your riding socks without pinching. Size for your coldest ride, not your warmest.
The women's last and the shaft: heel, instep and calf
A last is the form the boot is built around. Ours holds the heel closely so you don't have to lace the boot tight to stop it slipping, and gives the instep the volume a woman's foot actually needs rather than the volume a men's pattern assumes.
The shaft matters just as much on a tall boot. Cut too straight and it gaps at the ankle and grips at the top of the calf, which is precisely the complaint riders have about downsized men's boots. Ours follows the leg, so it closes evenly over the whole shaft instead of at one point.
Can you get these motorcycle boots in other colours?
Yes. The grid above shows the combination we hold in stock, but the boot is made to order, so you can choose your leather, your stitching and your laces and we build that pair for you. Delivery takes longer than a stock pair, and the specification is yours.
This is worth knowing before you assume the range is limited by what you can see. Start at design your own, pick your combination, and the boot is made on the same women's last with the same certification. If you'd rather talk it through first, our customer service team will walk you through the options and lead times.
Do they fit over or under riding trousers?
Both work. Textile touring trousers close over the outside of the shaft, which keeps rain running off rather than in, and that's what most riders do on wet days. Jeans and shorter-legged trousers tuck into the shaft if you prefer that look.
Because the shaft follows the calf rather than flaring straight out, it sits close enough to wear either way without bunching fabric. Try it with the trousers you actually ride in before deciding which you prefer.
Why the shaft matters on longer rides
Coverage is the obvious reason. The ankle is the joint a falling bike lands on, and an extended shaft puts material over it and the lower shin instead of leaving them in a sock. The testing behind that protection is explained on our motorcycle boots page.
The less obvious reasons show up after three hours. Wind that slips past a low shoe stops at the shaft, rain runs off the outside instead of into the collar, and the extra height braces the lower leg on the pegs so your foot isn't doing all the work. Our guide to women's motorcycle boots covers what else changes on a long day.
Women's motorcycle boots or women's motorcycle shoes?
Choose the boots for touring, winter riding and the most coverage around the ankle and lower leg. Choose the low shoes for short, daily, urban riding where you want footwear you never have to change out of. Both are built on the same women's last.
Compare the low version in women's motorcycle shoes, which runs from size 36 to 41.
Ordering, fit advice and returns
Shipping is free worldwide, every pair carries a 24 month warranty, and because the boots are welted, a worn sole is a repair rather than a replacement. You have 14 days to return and refunds are processed within five working days.
Made-to-order pairs take longer to arrive than stock, so ask customer service about lead times before you order if you need them by a particular date. The store finder lists dealers where you can try the fit on first.

Why buy women's motorcycle boots at Biker Boot?
Because this is a women's boot in the ways that matter: its own last, its own shaft, and the same CE certification and materials as the men's model. Nothing about the protection was traded away to get the fit.
It's handmade in Italy, Goodyear welted so it can be resoled rather than replaced, and available made to order in your own colours rather than only in what happens to be in stock.
